Kelly Howard, the owner, has a BA in elementary education and a MA in
secondary education. She taught at Salisbury School for several years before leaving to pursue her dream of opening a horse
farm. She has used her teaching skills to develop a unique riding program and summer camps that not only teach the children
how to ride, but also how to groom, tack, clean stalls, feed grain and hay, handle injuries, treat fungus, do nautral horsemanship,
give massages, and the list goes on and on. Kelly also has her Riding Instructor Certification and over twenty years of riding
experiences. Kindred Spirit Farm is licensed with the Maryland Department of Agriculture Horse Industry Board as a boarding
and riding instruction facility and The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a summer camp facility. They are
inspected yearly by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office and The Wicomico County Health Department.
Kelly has been extremely fortunate to have the support of her husband, Everett, and
parents, Nan and Glenn Reese. They helped develop this dream and continue today to work around the farm and with the programs.
They are all CPR and First Aid Certified, and they all work together as a family to make the business thrive.
The farm opened for business in 2000, and many
of the original families that came that year are still involved in the programs and have been a huge part of helping the farm
grow. Kindred Spirit Farm offers riding lessons, camps, birthday parties, field trips, clinics, and they have a Jousting show
and host a 4-H club. Call today to find out more and take a look at all the wonderful learning experiences that students encounter
while at Kindred Spirit Farm.
